The Great City Auction was a worldwide event which took place on Earth shortly after the founding of the Terran Federation.
After it was decided that Earth would have three political capitals, each for a single branch of the government, several countries began bidding for their capital. The United States of America won the bid for the executive capital, France won the bid for the legislative capital and the England won the bid for judicial capital.
